Screen Shot 2015-09-16 at 13.29.16The talents of one of Great Britain’s champion sportsmen was celebrated in Northallerton this week.

Members of Hambleton District Council presented 22 year old Scott Lincoln with a trophy to mark his status as British Champion shot putter.

Scott – from Brompton, Northallerton – who has now set his sights on being selected for the Rio Olympic Games in 2016 is the second Team GB member to be honoured by the council this year.  Long distance runner Marc Scott from Northallerton received a trophy in the spring.

Chairman of Hambleton District Council, Councillor Steven Dickens, presented Scott with his trophy and a free leisure centre pass to help with his training.
