Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

CaptureTWO of Tyneside’s most popular Italian restaurants have unveiled their new spring menus.

Scalini’s, at Great North Road, Gosforth and Osborne Road, Jesmond, have each expanded their range of starters, main courses, pizzas and pasta dishes– and introduced a range of special offers.

Among the dishes featured on the new menu at Scalini’s Jesmond are poached salmon salad and herb crusted lamb rump, with honey roasted vegetables, butternut squash purée and a white wine jus.

Meanwhile, the Gosforth branch is tempting diners with sanguinaccio crostini; black pudding, chorizo and creamy leek ragu served on warm toast and monkfish scampi with truffle and parmesan.

Scalini’s Jesmond has also introduced a tapas menu of sharing dishes, such as antipasto di mare and light meals, including mussels in a white wine and garlic or tomato and chorizo sauce and salt and pepper fried calamari.

It also includes a ‘Little Pickers’ selection of dishes, such as flatbreads with dips and crudités, Cajun-spiced whitebait and chicken and chorizo paella, for £3.95 each or three for £10.

Both restaurants also provide a refined, Piccolo menu of dishes, which change on a daily basis to reflect locally available produce, with customers able to choose two course for £10.95 between specified times.

They have also slashed the prices of pizzas and pastas during Happy Hour, which runs from noon to 7pm Mondayto Thursday and noon to 6pm on Friday and Saturday.

On Sunday, Happy Hour is from noon to 6pm at Jesmond and from 6pm to 9pm at Gosforth.
