Screen Shot 2015-11-03 at 15.31.51STOCKTON-on-Tees Borough residents wishing to take advantage of big savings on their energy bills still have time to join the latest Big Community Switch, a collective energy purchasing scheme.

The scheme, which gives individuals the opportunity to join together to form a single buying unit through which they can negotiate cheaper energy bills, has been extended to allow residents to register in person until Tuesday 17 November.

Over the previous three Big Community Switch auctions Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has worked in partnership with delivery partners, iChoosr and Make It Cheaper to find the best energy tariffs.

Although the auction for this latest scheme has already taken place there is still opportunity for residents to sign up before Tuesday 17 November to get the best tariff. To register visit Stockton and District Advice and Information Service at 1 Bridge Road, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1BH (openMonday to Thursday, 9am to 3pm) or telephone 01642 615834.  Alternatively you can simply register online at www.stockton.gov.uk/bigcommunityswitch

Residents need an annual energy statement or recent gas and electricity bill to hand when registering.

Once registered, people will receive a personal offer and can then make a decision whether to switch to the winning supplier. There is no cost or obligation for residents to register or accept the personal offer received.
