North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

The 13th North East Oyster Festival will be held at Hardwick Hall on Friday, September 30, offering a day of fine food and entertainment which will ultimately raise much-needed funds for the charity.

The event is organised annually by Ramside Estates and each year benefits a different local charity. This year, proceeds will be donated to Butterwick Hospice Care which has hospices in Stockton and Bishop Auckland to care for people of all ages with progressive life-limiting illnesses.

Headlining this year’s event is 1980s icon Paul Young, best known for his string of hits including Wherever I Lay My Hat, Love of the Common People and Every Time You Go Away.

The pop heartthrob will be joined by TV Funnyman Bobby Davro, who will be sure to get the audience chuckling when he takes to the stage during the event.

Further music will be provided by soul singer Diane Shaw and popular Irish folk musicians JJ Galway Band, while popular North East comedian Steve Walls will be compere at the event.

Billed as being like a day at the races but without the horses, the North East Oyster Festival welcomes ladies dressed to impress and men in smart suits as they arrive to a lavish Champagne reception.

As well as Oyster stalls, guests enjoy a three-course fruits de mer menu as well as complimentary beer, lager and wine all for just £140 per person.

John Adamson, Director of Ramside Estates, has warned that tickets could sell out soon. “This event is always very popular but this year we have had even more interest than usual,” he said.

“The demand has been very high and this is all fantastic news for our chosen charity, Butterwick Hospice Care.

“However, this means there aren’t a lot of tickets left and I would urge anyone who is considering joining us on the day to buy their tickets now so they don’t miss out.”

Tickets are available to purchase by calling 01740 620 253 or emailing events@hardwickhallhotel.co.uk. For further information about the event, visit the website: www.theoysterfestival.co.uk.
