Stockton chef calls on famous friend to help put on a top night at ARC

IMG_4500A well-known local restaurateur, caterer and community ambassador is holding his very own evening of dinner and jazz at No 60 on Friday, and everyone is welcome to join him!

Matty Brown, who runs his own Stockton based catering company, Matthew Brown Catering, and is the former head chef of The Bay Horse Hutton Rudby, is now working with ARC’s No 60 restaurant to put on a night of food and entertainment of his very own and has asked friend and impressionist Kevin Connelly for a helping hand.

Matty also helps run community project Element 1 CiC along with Stockton’s leading community ambassador Mike McGrother, as well as being the force behind Matty’s Bistro, a project which helps Stockton youngsters get into jobs in the food and catering industry.

Speaking about his upcoming evening of top quality food and music, he commented: “I have been heavily involved in the local catering industry for years, and when I heard the fantastic space at No 60 at ARC was going to be used more and more for live music and food events, I wanted to put on my very own evening top quality food and music with a local twist, so that people can have a nice relaxed evening, come down and have a bite to eat, and have a giggle at Kevin who is coming to give me a hand with the after dinner speaking – he’s better at that sort of thing than me, I’ll stick to the cooking!”

Anyone heading to Matty Brown’s Dinner and Jazz at No 60 can expect canapes on arrival with a three course meal which consists of: salmon and cod fish cakes with sandhutton asparagus and warm tartare sauce to start. Followed by beef served two ways: pan roasted Grand Reserve fillet served alongside slowly braised 10-hour brisket of beef, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes, beef stock gravy and buttered summer vegetables. Dessert will be tart au citron with limoncello sorbet and raspberry compote.

The event takes place Friday 8 July at 7pm and tickets cost £30 per person which includes food and entertainment. Vegetarian options are available and dietary requirements can be catered for, please inform staff when booking. Tables can be booked by calling ARC’s Box Office on 01642 525199 or by booking online atwww.arconline.co.uk.
