Over the last month 5 players have stepped up to the First team Squad from the Under 18’s. The players are; Dylan McAvoy, Mark Stonehouse, Gary Matthews, Marcellus Kerr and Joe Posthill. The first 4 named have all gone on to make their debuts for the first team. Dylan has excelled and has now played the last 3 league games against Prudhoe Town, Boldon CA and Gateshead Leam Rangers. He has also been called up to England’s Under 23 Futsal Squad. Mark Stonehouse also gave a good impression coming on against Silksworth at 1-0 down to help turn it into a 3-1 win setting up the third goal for Tony Johnston. This shows great continuity in the youth set up at Stockton and adds to the current crop of under 18’s who joined the First team squad at the start of the season (4 altogether). It also shows that young players will get a chance at the club.

Kallum Hannah scored his 150th goal for the club in the win away to Ashbrooke Belford House. First choice Goalkeeper Michael Arthur made his return to competitive action in March after being ruled out for 3 months after his Hernia operation. Max Craggs left the club to join 2nd division Northern league side Billingham Synthonia. We wish him well and thank him for his time at the club.

Girl’s Football at Stockton Town – Open night 28th April 6PM

April’s big news sees us get involved with the FA’s Girls Football Week. This is a big drive nationally to get more Girls playing football. Monday 25th April – Sunday 1st May will see the club part take in lots of girls only sessions from delivering football in school PE lessons to girls all ages, to a big open night at Stockton Town FC HQ on Thursday 28th April 6pm -7pm. Girls football is something we want to see at the club and have a vision that one day we will have a strong female section like the current male one. Hopefully with this big push we will get girls down to see what a great facility we have and hopefully we can get some girls teams up and running.

Fundraising News – How Stockton Town has been helping the Community

On Saturday 12th March, Stockton Town FC held one of their regular club social nights. We took advantage and utilised the event to fundraise for “Macmillan Cancer Support”. This was arranged to aid one of our club members Elaine Briscoe, Elaine is very passionate about Macmillan Cancer Support and has challenged herself to an unforgettable trek along ancient and remote sections of the Great Wall of China.

Elaine has dedicated months of training and fundraising, before undertaking this demanding physical challenge. All of this takes time, effort, dedication and commitment. The evening was well attended and we raised a fantastic £350 for Elaine and Macmillan Cancer Support. Elaine said “It just goes to show that Hiking@Macmillan is a worthy and needed cause for our families and friends suffering from cancer. I am so thankful for all who gave and made such a good night of it. I’m thankful to the Club for getting behind me in this challenge. God Bless All who came out to generously give!” For more information on Macmillan fundraising events visit: http://www.macmillan.org.uk/get-involved/fundraising-events/

Stockton Town FC 3G Pitch Development Construction Update – Update 22nd March 2016

Eleven weeks of construction work is now starting to look like a magnificent new 3G Stadium for our Football Club. Over the last 7 days we have gone from a stone surface, to tarmac and now a green pitch. Catch up with all the photos on the website Development page: http://stocktontownfc.com/stockton-towns-3g-development/

The moment a lot of us have been waiting for and the first sight of green on our new pitch has appeared. It is fair to say that the reaction and interest from right across the community this week has been overwhelming and it is obvious that the people of Stockton and the Club are now full of anticipation for the completion of the whole facility. The plan is for the pitch to be laid in full by the end of this week and as you will see from the photo the vast majority of the pitch rail and the exterior fence is installed. The dugouts and goals are due for delivery this week and the Stand has been delivered back to site ready for erection.

During next week work will continue in the finishing of the playing surface, install of the floodlight columns, erection of the stand and turnstile block. This work is all scheduled for completion ready for the Ground Grading visit on the 1st April. It is now truly starting to look a very impressive place and one we believe the whole of Stockton will be very proud of.
