STOCKTON’S Infinity Bridge is being celebrated as one of the best examples of 21st Century British engineering in the latest edition of British Airways’ Business Life magazine.
Business Life is the world’s only business-dedicated inflight magazine and is read by a potential 2.1million short haul passengers every month on business class flights across Europe.
The Infinity Bridge was nominated by Giles Taylor, design director at Rolls-Royce motor cars, who said: “The captivating artistic gesture and structural simplicity of the footbridge are two values I really admire in engineered objects.
“As a base concept, bridges can be extremely functional, yet this bridge is expressive, celebrates ingenuity and will be positively affecting people’s lives 120 years from now.”
Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “It is fantastic to see the Infinity Bridge showcased across Europe.
“It is a stunning landmark and I am sure we will continue to see worldwide interest in it for many years to come.”
