The popular restaurant, on College Square in the market town, has undergone a makeover as it enters its eighth year in business and has become the first food and drink outlet in Stokesley to sell Ringtons’ ranges of teas and coffees.

Howard’s now offers the Newcastle-based company’s range of Columbian blend coffee beans, premium hot chocolate, syrups  and a range of speciality teas including English breakfast, earl grey, green, blackcurrant, lemon ginger and ginseng, camomile and peppermint.

Howard’s chose to partner with Ringtons thanks to the business’s North East roots, family-run heritage and wide range of hot drinks.

Owner of Howard’s, Graham Howard, said: “We’ve recently completed another successful year to date which is very encouraging as Stokesley continues to attract some stiff competition. We strive to constantly offer customers a consistently high standard but also something different. Ringtons has a reputation spanning over a century and we share the same ethos, being family-run and quality-focussed.

“We’re the first place in Stokesley to sell Ringtons and our customers are really enjoying the new range of products. The coming year will also see us work with the brand further on more exciting developments. We also decided to spruce up Howard’s with a slight revamp which, again, has had a positive reaction.”

Craig Lazenby, area sales manager for Ringtons, added: “Working with a well-established business like Howard’s is a dream for us.  It’s an honour to partner with another family-run business that shares a similar ethos to us and is just as committed to providing great service and quality as we are.

“Howard’s is proud of its local sourcing and the fact all of our tea, infusions and coffee are produced in our own factory in the north east of England means customers are getting fresh drinks within weeks of it being blended or roasted and packed which ensures a great drink.  We’ve some exciting plans in the pipeline for future collaborations with Howard’s and we look forward to building our relationship with the team and customers in the coming months.”

Howard’s offers its seasonal a la carte and ‘Market’ menus- which has two courses for £12.95 or three for £16.95- as well as new weekday special offers include two pizzas for 12.95 (eating in and take away) and two main courses from a selection for 12.95. These offers run every Monday to Wednesday with a ‘Late Bird’ free glass of wine offer running Thursday to Saturday when dining from 8pm.

Manager, Peter Holligon, and head chef, Andrew Russell, have worked together to compile menus that reflect seasonal, locally-available produce as well as regularly speaking to customers about their preferences. As a result, 2015 saw Howard’s enjoy its busiest year to date with an increase in sales and footfall. Current menu options include tempura king prawns served with rocket and chilli dip; locally landed fish pie; homemade chicken Kiev; and 8oz 21 days matured rump steak, thick cut chips, as well as a selection of homemade venison and beef burgers and chef’s daily choice of desserts.

Howard’s is recognised as one of the best places to eat on Teesside and in North Yorkshire by Harden’s UK Restaurant Guide and has been run by the Howard family, from Great Ayton, since 2008. The restaurant also has a Food Standards Agency 5* hygiene award.
