Stokesley’s spooky Halloween extravaganza

Screen Shot 2015-10-21 at 14.10.53A popular Hambleton bar and restaurant is holding a special Halloween extravaganza next weekend.

Chapter’s Deli, on Stokesley High Street, is hosting a Halloween night on Saturday 31st October featuring a special menu, staff dressed up as Harry Potter characters, prizes for the best dressed customers, apple-bobbing and other games and a late disco.

As well as the regular a la carte menu, Chapter’s Deli’s chefs have created a number of Halloween ‘specials’ including ‘pumpkin cauldron soup’, ‘hung, drawn and quartered steak’ and ‘Joan of Arc cherry flambéed booty’, to name just a few.

The disco and games are free and will run from 9.30pm. Booking is advisable for evening meals.

Jake Taylor, manager at Chapter’s Deli, said: “All of the staff are going to be dressed as different Harry Potter characters and we’d love to see our customers getting involved too so the best-dressed will win a special wine hamper.

“Our chefs have come up with a great menu for the night and it promises to be a fun, spooky affair- after all our building dates back to the 1500s when it was known as ‘The Shambles’ and sold all sorts of produce- so who knows what’s lurking inside!”

Chapter’s Deli is open throughout the week for breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea, homemade cakes and scones, lunch and dinner, cocktail happy hours and Sunday lunch.

Over the summer, the family run restaurant unveiled its new look following substantial investment to mark over 15 years in business.

Chapter’s Deli has a number of longstanding staff including chef, John Carpenter, who has worked at the restaurant for many years. John and his team of three chefs, including his own son, Brad, have developed a new menu featuring a range of dishes, including the ‘Deli Bombe’- a sharing, chocolate dessert, as well as familiar favourites including homemade pizzas, fresh fish and grill dishes and the ‘Deli Burger’, which is made using special, closely guarded ingredients.

The Deli is one of Stokesley and the surrounding area’s most popular bars and restaurants, highly regarded for its home-cooked food and live music events, including Motown and Northern Soul nights and showcases for local musicians and comedians.
