Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2016-03-16 at 15.50.02Durham Market Hall is once again to be the setting for one of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays – The Tempest – as touring theatre company, The Three Inch Fools, return to Durham’s alternative theatrical venue.

The Tempest will be performed at 7.30pm on Wednesday April 6th, and Thursday April 7th in Café Cenno, on the Mezzanine level of the Market Hall.  The Three Inch Fools’ production combines music, acting, wit and a little eccentricity – recreating the storm, ships, beasts, drunken butlers and more with just six actors and their musical instruments.

The company first visited Durham Market Hall in August 2015 and will now return for two more nights.  Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Market Hall, commented: “The Three Inch Fools have sought out unique and unusual venues for their production, and we’re delighted that they’re back to transform Durham’s Victorian Market Hall into Prospero’s remote island.  The company has received great plaudits for its production which returns Shakespeare’s play to its touring roots.  It’s an ideal family night out, and perfectly timed during the Easter holidays.”

Director James Hyde added: “We’ve taken our production across the country, performing both indoors and out, in castles, churches, ruins, old fire stations and more.  We’re looking forward to our return to the Market Hall.  This is an intimate space, where the audience will be totally immersed in the play.  Whether you saw us last time or not, we recommend you come along and enjoy ‘the storm’.”

Tickets, priced at £12.50 (concessions/ under 16s £10), are now available.  For tickets, visit www.threeinchfools.com or telephone 07714 028770.
