Students from across the north east can travel on all Stagecoach North East buses throughout Tyne and Wear and the Tees Valley for less than £1 per day, as the unirider ticket allows students the chance to hop on and off buses in Hartlepool, Teesside, Sunderland, Newcastle and South Shields.

Each year the discounted ticket from the local bus operator proves to be popular and is welcomed by thousands of students looking to make the most of the social and academic life and the attractions around the region.

Students aged 16 and over can purchase an annual unirider online for £250 by visiting www.buymyunirider.com. Offering great value, tickets are valid from 1st September 2015 until 30th June 2016, giving 302 days of affordable travel to university, for shopping and socialising, visiting family or exploring the cities and countryside.

Term tickets are available throughout the academic year at the online price of £107 and there’s also a summer holiday version for those students who stay in the North East for the summer break.

All tickets can be purchased online at https://www.stagecoachbus.com/unirider. Alternatively, students can pop into a unirider agent*, complete an application form and buy their ticket in person.

Phil Medlicott, Managing Director, Stagecoach North East said: “We realise that as a student, income is limited and therefore we want to help finances go as far as possible when it comes to getting around the region. With travel forming an essential part of college and university life, we hope unirider proves to be just as popular this year and further enhances the student experience with all the entertainment our towns and cities bring.”
