Hundreds of visitors to the Dundas Sci Fi and Fantasy Market and Comic Book Event in Middlesbrough’s Dundas Shopping Centre on Saturday 24 March met Star Wars’ characters from the 99th Garrison and comic book illustrator Richard Piers Rayner and shopped at more than 25 specialist stands.

The 99th Garrison, the largest UK independent Star Wars based costume group, brought Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and other characters from the hit film series to raise money for the children’s charity Dreamflight by posing for photographs.

Famed comic book illustrator, and current artist in residence at Middlesbrough Football Club, Richard Piers Rayner appeared on the InterStellar Comics’ unit in the Indoor Market.

Dundas Market Manager David Harris says: “Once again this was a really popular event last year, attracting hundreds of enthusiasts to our special market to meet the Star Wars characters and Richard Piers Rayner, buy unique gifts at our special stalls and also to shop at Forbidden Planet, Games Workshop and Kindamagic in the shopping centre.”
