Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Tastes of Persia among Orange Pip newcomers

THE tastes of Persia will be among newcomer stalls to Orange Pip Market in Middlesbrough this Saturday (August 26).

Half a dozen new arrivals will be in amongst the 45 traders taking part in the August instalment of the market.

The debutants include specialists in smoked goods, ice cream, sauces, piccalilli, posh fish and chips and Persian food.

As in July the event will be spread across Baker and Bedford Street with Albert Road also used to host the stage and provide the “wrap around”.

The market has continued to grow since its launch in May last year and attracts thousands of visitors to each event held on the last Saturday of each month.

Current weather forecasts for this Saturday are for a cloudy day without rain and temperatures of around 18°C.

Middlesbrough’s Deputy Mayor and Executive Member for City Centre Strategy, Cllr Charlie Rooney, said: “We’re looking forward to another great day at Orange Pip Market with a great line-up of food and drink stalls, old and new, and another top selection of live music and entertainment on offer.”

Bands and artists performing onstage at the August edition of Orange Pip are Keiandrea, Samantha Durnan, Pink Tide and Eat Fast
