Screen Shot 2016-05-25 at 13.46.29A massive £1.1 million has been brought into Hambleton over the last 12 months.

Development Officer for Hambleton Community Action, Nicky Smith, has helped 36 community groups secure the cash through grant funding!

The 71 successful grants, spread across the 36 different projects include Danby Wiske Play Area, Topcliffe Village Hall, Pendragon Community Trust, Breathing Space and Huby Bowls Club.

Pendragon Community Trust highlighted the help and support they’ve received: “Nicky Smith has helped the Pendragon Community Trust to raise funds for their new Multi-Sensory Centre, including a substantial lottery grant of £264,000. Nicky has always been on hand to advise the Trust of any grant opportunities that arise and has also helped us link to other groups within the local community.”

And Richmond MP, Rishi Sunak, commenting on Hambleton Community Action’s exceptional achievement, added: “I’d like to congratulate Nicky. To access that number of grants and that amount of money when funding generally is tight is a wonderful achievement. Many people and communities will have cause to be very grateful for Nicky’s excellent work.”
