The Dr from eighties group, Dr and the Medics, will be the support act at An Evening with Heather Small, at Rockliffe Hall on Saturday 20th May.

The group is best known for its massive 1986 hit Spirit in the Sky, which sold over 24 million copies worldwide and was Number 1 in 23 countries. The band has recorded 5 albums including a live one which was released last year. The current line-up has been together since 1999 and has developed a unique and sensationally flamboyant live show.

The Dr from Dr and the Medics will perform a 45 minute set during dinner, ahead of the main act, Heather Small. As the voice of M People, hits such as Moving on Up, One Night in Heaven and Search for a Hero helped Heather become one of the seminal British voices of the 1990s, with the Band winning the Best British Dance Act Award at The Brits in 1994 and 1995, while their album Elegant Slumming picked up a Mercury Music Prize.

Heather, who was also a contestant in Series 6 of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2008, will perform hits from M People and her solo career, in the luxury marquee set within the stunning grounds of the award-winning Rockliffe resort.

The black tie evening hosted by Smooth Radio will include a three course menu created by Aaron Craig, one of the executive chefs from Rockliffe Hall’s three exquisite restaurants and all entertainment including Dr and the Medics, Heather Small and a disco. The evening will be held in aid of the Graeme Wylie Foundation, with a raffle and silent auction on the evening.

Prices start at £95 per person for premium tickets.

Eamonn Elliott, Chief Executive at Rockliffe Hall, says: “We are delighted to be holding another marquee event in the grounds of Rockliffe. Heather Small is one of the most successful female recording artists of recent years and we look forward to welcoming her here and we’re very excited to now announce that the Dr from Dr and the Medics will also be performing.”

Tickets are available to purchase via the Rockliffe Hall website –  www.rockliffehall.com

The event will start at 7pm with carriages at midnight.
