Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

THREE MILE INN HAS PUB FOOD ALL WRAPPED UP

A much-loved North East pub has unveiled a summer menu, with a special range for time-pressed diners.

Alongside a range of pizzas, burgers and loaded fries, chefs at Three Mile Inn, Gosforth, is a selection of wrap boxes, which can be eaten in or taken away.

The fully biodegradable boxes contain wraps filled with everything from meatballs or falafel to steak with cream cheese or char-grilled chicken, served with spicy rice and coleslaw.

The new menu also offers a Home Comforts range of dishes, such as pie of the day, lasagne and sausage and mash.

Burgers and sandwiches have also been given a makeover, with two new additions; the Mexican beef burger and the Brazilian chicken burger.

The Mexican version is topped with chilli, a fried egg and guacamole while the Brazilian is a grilled chicken breast with smoky chimichurri relish, creamy lime and avocado mayonnaise and sour pickled onion.

Completing the menu is a choice of pizzas and sides along with loaded fries – chips topped with everything from duck and hoi sin sauce to cheese, bacon and barbecue sauce.

The venue’s Happy Hour has also returned by popular demand, giving customers a 70 per cent chance of receiving a 50 per cent discount on drinks between 6pm and 7pm every day.

The venue is halfway through a £5.6m project to transform it into a 64-bedroom hotel, bar and restaurant.

An estimated 25 jobs will be created when work is complete and owners the Malhotra Group plc, hope that as well as welcoming leisure and corporate guests, the venue will become a much-used community hub for neighbouring families.
