Three prominent businesses from the oil and fuel industry have this year boosted the newly created Hambleton Junior Cricket League into their second official cricket season.

Entering a three-way sponsorship deal co-sponsors Lynx Fuels, who are currently based in Stokesley and soon moving to a new state of the art fuel facility in Leeming Bar, A1 Tanks Ltd specialising in installing and supplying oil storage tanks throughout Northern England and the leading plastic tank manufacturer in the UK Envirostore all pledged their support for this local up and coming junior cricket league.

The Hambleton Junior Cricket League was set up last year by Chief Organiser Alan Robson and his dedicated team of volunteers. It formed a range of competitive teams for boys and girls divided into various age groups from Under 11’s up to Under 17’s, with the development of an Under 9’s team well on the way.

Alan Robson, Chief Organiser at the Hambleton Junior Cricket League said:

“We initially set up the new league to give local talented sporting players the opportunity to play cricket at a competitive league level throughout the Hambleton District area and beyond. This includes the famous Yorkshire Junior Cricket Festival and Joe Lumb Festival which took place during the Summer months.

We discovered that young players in our area found entering representative level sport extremely difficult, especially into leagues who have been established for over 20 years. Our new league now provides access to cricket at a representative level and for some, an opportunity to go on and play higher representative level cricket and hopefully one day go on and have the opportunity to wear the full Yorkshire county colours!

The teams at Lynx Fuels, A1 Tanks and Envirostore UK have really bought in to what we are trying to achieve and it is great that they are providing sponsorship to our representative teams to help us fulfil this

Their investment in our representative team set up has allowed us to not only plan for the future but also go further faster in our progress”

Andrew Storey, General Manager at Lynx Fuels said:

“Sponsoring the Hambleton Junior Cricket League is a great opportunity for us as a local company to support both local teams and communities within our delivery area. It is great to be supporting the talented sporting players and volunteer organisers who make this league very special”
