North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Website launch gives a brand new insight into life-changing work of Gateshead-based charity

Changing Lives, a national charity based in Gateshead, are delighted to launch their new website today.

Designed and developed for Changing Lives by local agency, DigiPro Media, the website offers users a brand new insight into the life-changing work of the charity.

For the first time, visitors will be able to browse over 100 projects that the charity runs across the North and Midlands, to find out what Changing Lives offer in their local area, making it much easier for the public to offer support.

Each year, the charity helps 21,000 people each year to change their lives for the better, working to support the most vulnerable and socially excluded people in our communities.

The new website allows visitors to explore these services by geography as well as by theme.

Changing Lives work across four key areas: housing and homelessness services, drug and alcohol services, women and children’s services, and employment services, and have services that include addiction recovery centres, housing for people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence services, specialist support for veterans and a lot more.

In addition to the service directory, the website also includes much more information for supporters of the charity. Changing Lives rely on the support of an army of volunteers, fundraisers, donors and corporate supporters to deliver their life-changing support to vulnerable people.

Big-hearted visitors to the site will be able to apply for volunteer vacancies, find out what fundraising events they can take part in, download fundraising resources and even bunting to decorate their events.

Stephen Bell, Chief Executive of Changing Lives, says:

“As a charity we have a huge amount to offer and we also need a lot of support. Our new website will play a vital part in connecting the people who need our help with the services in their local area. It will also help our thousands of supporters to find out more about how they are changing lives through their donations, their fundraising and their volunteering. This is a challenging times for charities. We have been changing lives for almost 50 years and our new website will help us continue to change lives by connecting us with the people who need us and who help us.”

The new website includes an online form for people to sign up for Changing Lives’s monthly newsletter, which includes news about how supporters have helped change lives that month, as well as forthcoming opportunities to support the charity.

Job hunters will also find the new website more informative and intuitive, with lots of information about working for the charity, the values that make Changing Lives such a special place to work, and profiles of staff from around the UK.

The website has been designed to make it easier for visitors to find the information they need, especially on tablets and mobile phones, which 50% of the website visitors use to access the site.
The website has been built by DigiPro Media, a digital agency also based in Gateshead who specialise in web design and development for SMEs.

Ryan Harland, Managing Director of DigiPro Media says:
“It has been a pleasure helping Changing Lives design and develop their new website. We were very keen to work with and support Changing Lives after seeing the outstanding work they do in the North East and further afield, particularly their work supporting people experiencing homelessness. We’ve been working closely with the team during development to help ensure the new website meets all of their needs and requirements moving forward, to make it easier to browse the services the charity offers and to highlight the different ways in which people can support the charity, whilst also implementing a more modern, sleek look and layout. We’re really excited to see the impact the new website has and the ways in which it can help Changing Lives continue to grow and change lives.
