The World Village Market will be on Stockton High Street for three days offering delights from a wide range of countries, a huge selection of delectable tasty goods, handcrafted authentic gifts and clothing.

The three-day themed street market, organised by Market Square Group, will feature products unique to particular regions from around the globe that bring together colour and character with sustainable business practices and originality.

From 10am to 4pm on Friday 17 April to Sunday 19 April shoppers can experience the World Village atmosphere while they browse the stalls offering handmade products such as crafts, homewares, bags, clothing and shoes from places as diverse as Ecuador, India, Nepal, Turkey and Thailand.

There will be plenty to tempt the tastebuds too with traditional Spanish paella, olives, baklava, Turkish delight and nuts. Or for those with a sweeter tooth, Churros with chocolate sauce, raspberry puree and whipped cream or handmade almond cakes.

The Market Square Group will also be creating a street food festival area with seating and hosting a beer festival which runs until 9pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. A live music programme from Apollo Arts will keep people entertained over the weekend.

On Sunday from 11am to 3pm visitors will also be able to marvel at cars from the past as a Classic Car Display arrives into the Town Centre next to the World Village Market.

Admission is free to the market and shoppers can make the most of free parking for the first hour in all Stockton Town Centre’s short stay, off-street car parks.

Hosted by Stockton Council the World Village Market and Classic Car Display is part of the jam-packed programme of specialist markets heading to Stockton High Street over the coming months to attract visitors and shoppers into the town and to complement what the popular weekly market has to offer.
