Newcastle based TORRO, a manufacturer of premium leather accessories, is already celebrating the success of the new iPhone X release.

Hot on the heels of Apple’s latest iPhone launch, which hits the streets today (Nov 3), TORRO released a new range of phone cases for the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the much-anticipated iPhone X.

Since releasing the cases, on the same day Apple launched their new handsets in September, TORRO has seen sales skyrocket with more than 5,000 phone case orders in just in six weeks, generating close to £125,000 in sales for the business. Since the iPhone X pre-order commenced on 27 October, the firm sold 2,000 iPhone X cases in the opening weekend alone.

William Johnson, co-founder of TORRO, said: “We’ve been blown away with the demand for our cases ahead of the iPhone launch. Sales have exceeded all our expectations. The iPhone plays a key role in our business and enables us to invest into wider product development, expansion of the business and job creation for the region.”

Born from a desire for accessories that were both high quality and affordable, TORRO’s success has centered around the iPhone phenomenon. Co-founders William Johnson and Michael Farnsworth started the business in 2013 with a small investment and produced just 100 iPhone cases.

Selling out in a week, they continued to re-invest profits and develop the business from there. TORRO now retails more than 230 of its own lifestyle products, including passport holders, wallets, gloves and a growing TORRO apparel range, turning over almost £2m annually.

TORRO’s new iPhone X case includes a redesigned internal frame for increased protection, ensuring the phone stays securely in the case even if dropped. The innovative slotted corners keeps the handset is safely secured without infringing on the iPhone X’s new edge-to-edge screen.  William added: “We really wanted to make this product one that offered style and security. These handsets aren’t cheap, so we wanted to make this our most secure case yet. We’re so pleased with the response we’ve seen from customers.”

The cases, priced from £24, are available now from www.torrocases.co.uk and Amazon.
