Yarm School welcomed a number of leading employers and higher education providers to offer advice and guidance for students from across the region who are considering their futures.
The school hosted a Career Convention across a number of the school’s venues, including its award-winning Princess Alexandra Auditorium.
Companies including PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Bellway Homes, the Nuffield Trust and Specsavers were joined by representatives from more than 30 universities and colleges to discuss employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
In addition, there were presentations on maximising gap years and university guides for parents.
Stephen Edwards, Head of Careers at Yarm School, said: “The Career Convention provided students and their parents with an insight into life beyond secondary and sixth form education. Some of the country’s leading companies, colleges and universities were on hand to offer sound advice and guidance. It was also a chance for parents to ask questions and understand the vast opportunities that are available for their children.
“It was a hugely successful, informative and exciting event, which was attended by pupils from across the region, and particularly those who are gearing up for their GCSEs or A Levels.
“I would like to thank all the delegates from the different companies and higher education providers who attended.”
