The People’s Theatre in Heaton is holding a reunion for some of the thousands of Young People who have taken part in its internationally renowned youth theatre.

It’s fifty years since the People’s Theatre in Heaton first established a Youth Theatre. Since then thousands of young people aged 11 to 18 have taken part. Big names such as comedian Ross Noble, actress Andrea Riseborough and pop star Neil Tennant have taken their first steps into the arts and entertainment world through the Young People’s Theatre.

On Saturday 27 May all former members of YPT are being warmly invited to join a celebration of this unique and vital youth drama group in the wonderful setting of our new Foyer Bar.

The Young People’s Theatre also continues to stage ambitious productions. This May sees a collaborative work with adult volunteers from the People’s Theatre. More Light by Bryony Lavery tells the story of a group of women of all ages immured in the tomb of China’s first Emperor.

Tickets for the reunion are available now from the People’s Theatre Box Office. Please note, capacity is limited.
