Access Training is holding the event at its Mile House centre, next to the crossroads in the Market Place in Chester-le-Street, between 2pm and 6pm on Tuesday 25 August.
Access Training is experiencing a surge in demand for apprenticeships from employers across the north east. The number of apprentices is up 40% on a year ago and Access has over 40 vacancies it is currently trying to fill and around 10 new enquiries coming through from employers every day.
Anyone interested in securing an apprenticeship can drop in at the event, view the vacancies, learn about apprenticeships and even be interviewed on the day.
The apprenticeships are across a range of occupations including accounting, business administration, customer service, social media, IT, hairdressing & barbering, beauty therapy, warehousing, manufacturing and installing security systems.
Many of the apprenticeships advertised pay more than the statutory apprentice minimum wage and all offer on-the-job work experience and paid training that leads to nationally recognised qualifications.
Managing director of Access Training, Malcolm Armstrong, said: “We have some fantastic apprenticeships on offer. It’s a very informal open day; anyone can drop in, have a chat with our trainers and find out what opportunities are available.”
