£90million Coastal Communities Fund opens for applications

Redcar_and_Cleveland_Borough_CouncilBUSINESSES and communities in Redcar-Coatham and East Cleveland are being encouraged to bid for a share of £90million government funding, available over the next four years, to drive economic growth and regeneration to their coastal areas.

Applications for Round 4 of the Coastal Community Fund (CCF) are now open, with grants available for over £50,000 to public, private and voluntary sector organisations.

The multi-million pound fund has previously supported a number of landscape and tourism developments in the coastal areas as well as providing funding for the Kirkleatham Catering Academy.

The closing date for stage one applications is 12noon on Thursday, June 30, 2016.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is working in partnership with the Redcar-Coatham and East Cleveland Coastal Community Teams (CCT) as they drive economic plans to help bring sustainable jobs, tourism and economic development to the coastal areas.

Councillor Dale Quigley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council said:

“Through the fund, the Coastal Communities Teams are aiming to boost the growth of our local economy and make improvements to the area.

“The council is delighted to be working with the teams to encourage local participation and to support the development of projects, which will make our borough a great place to live, visit and work.”

Paul Kitchener, Chair of the Redcar-Coatham Coastal Communities Team said: “The Redcar and Coatham CCT have a wealth of knowledge and are looking forward to receiving your project plans. We have a real strong opportunity to help and support projects that bring economic diversification and sustainable job creation to the area.”

The Redcar-Coatham CCT is holding two events in June that are open to everyone, where people can find out more information about the CCTs / CCF and where they will be able to access help and advice on writing successful funding bids. These are:

Bid writing workshop – Wednesday, June 8, 6-8pm at Tuned-In! Redcar;

The Redcar-Coatham CCT has requested that all bids for projects in Redcar and Coatham be submitted to the team bySaturday, June 18 for consideration and feedback in advance of the CCF application deadline.
