A blockbuster year for North East video production company

2018 is proving to be a great year at the business box office for Gateshead-based video production company, GetFilm, so much so, they’ve had to double their staffing numbers to meet expectation and demand.

The offices of GetFilm are located at the Gateshead International Business Centre (GIBC). They currently employ twenty full and part-time staff, who front the sales, production, operations and management teams. Their skills are complimented by an extensive network of talented creative freelance operators, who are situated up and down the country.

In the company’s sixth year of trading orders have rocketed with the production team successfully delivering over 50 videos a month. In 2018 alone, GetFilm has shot over 4,000 hours of footage (240,000 minutes) and 5,000 hours (300,000 minutes) of editing time.

GetFilm has a variety of different clients from the public and private sectors spread across architecture, charities, culture, healthcare, hotels, sports and technology. The companies include Accenture, Breast Cancer Now, Crowne Plaza Docklands, Gateshead Council, the NHS, Newcastle University, Hilton Hotels and Thinking Digital.

“We have the drive, vision and desire to one day be recognised as the UK’s leading video production company. This ambition is represented in the business doubling its turnover year upon year since we began,” said Rob Earnshaw, co-founder of GetFilm.

GetFilm are putting measures in place to make the prediction a reality. This includes the creation of GetFilm’s freelance production network made up of nearly 100 specialist independent filmmakers located in many major UK cities including Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Manchester and Newcastle. This means that at the click of a button GetFilm can have a member of their team onsite filming as soon as the order has been placed. All produced in the GetFilm Way.

The range of GetFilm products cater for online, events, promotional campaigns, product launches, international conferences, and special personal occasions like weddings.

GetFilm are seasoned professionals at producing wedding videos as they’ve recorded in excess of 200 nuptial packages for happy couples with locations ranging from the grandiose to the obscure. They’ve filmed in a chateau and even shot a Harry Potter themed wedding.

This year GetFilm sent an open letter to Windsor Castle informing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle they could record their wedding for a competitive price starting at £599, which can be paid over 12-months (payment plan is offered to all of GetFilm’s prospective clients on products across the board). #ShyBairns.

With the advancements in technology and the Internet, demand has never been greater for video production as social media is one of the most popular ways people promote their professional and personal lives. The age of mobile phones has meant that people are looking to be informed and entertained 24 hours a day. GetFilm recognises this need and is developing speedy and affordable ways of achieving these goals.

Rob continued: “We are proud of our northern roots and committed to providing employment opportunities to the hundreds of highly skilled filmmakers who ply their trade in the region. We also try and work with local organisations like charities, who ordinarily wouldn’t be able to experience what video can offer them and their clients.

“These are exciting times for everyone associated with GetFilm as we look to the future and try to ensure video continues to be a vital way people communicate for years to come.”
