A GREAT NORTH WEDDING FAIR…

A STYLISH hotel in one of Newcastle’s most upmarket suburbs is set to unveil its first ever wedding fair.

Great North Hotel, Gosforth – owned by leading North East hospitality operator, Malhotra Group plc – will be throwing open its doors to bridal couples on Sunday 26 March.

All attendees will receive 10 per cent off Sunday lunch at the adjoining Three Mile on the day of the event.

And along with the chance to view the purpose-built luxury hotel’s facilities, visitors will be able to meet a wide range of wedding suppliers, providing everything from flowers to photography.

The hotel opened two years ago as part of a £7.5m redevelopment of the Three Mile site on the Great North Road and the wedding fair will showcase its Ouseburn Suite.

Entirely self-contained and designed with weddings in mind, the Suite has a private bar, which can cater for between 25 and 80 guests and can be sub-divided to create a smaller space for more intimate celebrations.

In addition, some of the hotel’s 64 bedrooms will be available for viewing, including the spacious Bulman Suite, which is the perfect option for the happy couple at the end of their special day.

The hotel’s lounge will play host to a wide variety of suppliers during the day, including Cramlington-based florist The Wild Iris, The Cakery With Love, Simply Wed bridal and North East Celebrant, Gemma Jay.

Experts will be on hand to discuss everything from photography and videography to honeymoons and wedding planning and there will be musical entertainment in Great North Hotel’s lobby and Three Mile’s bar area throughout the event.

The venue offers three wedding price packages – bronze, silver and gold – all of which include hire of the suite, reception drinks and a three-course wedding breakfast.

Also included are a DJ and LED dancefloor, an evening buffet, red carpet and overnight accommodation for the bride and groom in one of the hotel’s suites following the wedding.

Preferential rates for guests are also provided along with the services of a wedding coordinator, with the differing package price points reflecting the catering options on offer.

“Unfortunately, our opening was delayed by the pandemic, so this is the first opportunity we have had to really show the hotel off to wedding couples,” said sales manager Debbie Howe, “and we are pulling out all the stops.

“Along with the chance to view the rooms and meet suppliers, couples will be able to see for themselves how well designed and accessible the hotel is. It’s in a great location and really is a perfect wedding choice.”

The fair will take place from 11am to 2pm and although walk-ins are welcome, registering via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/great-north-hotel-wedding-fair-2023-tickets-512812835997 is recommended.
