Yarm School has joined forces with Recognition PR to bring a world-class opera concert to the Princess Alexandra Auditorium.
London Festival Opera has performed for senior members of the Royal family, prime ministers and British ambassadors.
Now, the company is coming to the North East as part of an exciting and affordable entertainment programme at Yarm School’s 750-seater Princess Alexandra Auditorium.
A Night at the Opera will bring together established performers from the likes of the Royal Opera House, English National Opera and Glyndebourne.
The Recognition PR-sponsored event will feature much-loved classics from works by Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Handel, Rossini, Offenbach and Gilbert & Sullivan, which should appeal to both opera newcomers and connoisseurs alike.
While opera tickets at venues in London can be more than £200 each, tickets for the Yarm School performance will be £10 for pupils and £15 for adults.
Yarm School Headmaster David Dunn said: “Singers with London Festival Opera have performed for royalty and world leaders. The company has sung in the world’s greatest opera houses, including La Fenice in Venice so we’re absolutely thrilled that they are coming to Yarm School.
“Music and drama are a huge part of life here at Yarm School. We have incredibly talented students who are sure to find the evening inspirational and we hope to welcome opera fans from the wider community and across the North East.”
Graham Robb, senior partner at Recognition PR, said: “We’re delighted to be able to help bring world-renowned opera to Yarm School. The Princess Alexandra Auditorium offers fantastic acoustics and is sure to provide the perfect setting for an evening which is not to be missed.”
London Festival Opera, A Night at the Opera takes place at 7.30pm Wednesday 9th September. Tickets, priced £15 for adults and £10 for students are available from www.thepaaonline.org.
