A STOCKTON business is hoping to have its first birthday all stitched up, as it celebrates National Yarn Day.
All Things Wool at Dovecot Street is celebrating on 6 May, which along with it being the shop’s one year anniversary is also designated National Yarn Day.
And to mark the double celebration the shop is planning a range of activities and giveaways, including free patterns and a goody bag to the first ten customers to spend more than £15 each.
Visitors to the store will also be encouraged to take a selfie with “Spike” – a furry hedgehog – and post them on Facebook, with one person then picked at random to win a prize.
All Things Wool was set up by keen knitter Sam Grig, who along with selling a range of wool and crafts runs a number of workshops at the store, teaching people to knit and crochet.
Karen Hindhaugh of Stockton BID said All Things Wool was the kind of business which helps make the town unique.
“It’s fantastic to see that Sam is celebrating her first birthday and that independent businesses like this can really thrive in Stockton,” she said.
