Aged between 16 and 27, the council has welcomed 19 new apprentices in a range of roles.
Based at different council buildings across the borough, they include apprenticeships in legal services, ICT engineering, playwork, business administration, environmental services and many more.
Welcoming them to the organisation, Elected Mayor Norma Redfearn said: “We have an excellent and successful apprenticeship programme here at North Tyneside Council, and we’re really pleased these bright young people are joining our workforce.
“We have seen firsthand the benefit of apprenticeships, both for the council and for the young person taking part.
“The apprentices are provided with a great opportunity to gain hands-on work experience and a qualification, as well as developing their vital skills and confidence, while we benefit from their fresh outlook on the organisation.
“I would like to wish them every success in their new roles.”
One of this year’s apprentices is George Dixon, who added: “My apprenticeship is in business administration within the human resources department – I wanted to be part of a team within a large organisation and to feel valued, that’s why I chose North Tyneside Council.
“I’m pleased I decided to do an apprenticeship as it will enable me to develop as a person and gain new skills, while receiving a wage, training and an NVQ qualification.”
Each apprentice is fully supported by an experienced and dedicated mentor within their team and takes part in a structured learning programme, leading to a nationally-recognised qualification.
