Auto Enrolment brings Growth to Teesside Firm

17932Tees Valley based firm of chartered accountants and business advisers Waltons Clark Whitehill is preparing for growth in its payroll department.

The growth in the number of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) reaching their staging points for auto enrolment has led to an increase in workloads for the team, which removes the burden of administering the pensions.

The Hartlepool-based firm is aiming to employ an additional trainee as part of the plans to build the team and is planning a series of workshops to help businesses to understand how auto enrolment will affect them.

These free workshops will be aimed at businesses as their relevant staging dates approach and will be promoted directly to firms, as well as via social media (including Facebook and @waltonscw).

Heather O’Driscoll, Managing Director of Waltons Clark Whitehill, said: “Auto enrolment is something all employers face and is being phased in, with larger employers already involved and smaller firms approaching their staging dates- the point at which they will be obliged to offer a workplace pension.

“The legislation brings with it fresh financial pressure, although businesses need not be faced with the administrative burden.

“This is something many companies are preferring to outsource and we are seeing considerable interest from businesses wanting our payroll team to support them to implement and run their schemes. As a result, we are growing our team and the first part of this is to recruit a trainee who can join the payroll team and support its activity.”
