Colmans fish and chips, South Shields, is taking part in the first ever South Tyneside Restaurant Week, from Saturday October 3 2015.
As part of the initiative, organised by South Tyneside Council, the award-winning, family-run firm will be serving up a special two course menu, which has been designed exclusively for the seven day event.
This includes a starter of tempura crab claws with citrus mayo and a main course of smoked salmon and dill fishcakes served with chips and salad.
Colmans owner, Richard Ord, said: “Neither of these dishes feature on our menu, so this will be an ideal opportunity for visitors to come along and try a new combination of flavours, as well as some fantastic North East seafood.”
Colmans, which has been running since 1929, is among dozens of venues participating in South Tyneside Restaurant Week 2015.
The initiative, designed to help boost tourism across the borough, will feature restaurants in Jarrow, Hebburn, Boldon and South Shields, with each offering their own discounts and deals throughout the week.
Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council, with responsibility for Culture and Leisure, said: “Colmans is one of South Tyneside’s longest running food businesses and we areabsolutely delighted to have them on board for our first ever Restaurant Week.
Colmans’ special South Tyneside Restaurant Week menu will be available during regular opening hours at the Ocean Road restaurant from Saturday October 3 until Saturday October 10, priced at £9.95 for two courses.
