The Bannatyne Group is enhancing facilities for members and spa guests at its Durham health club with a £80,000 investment in the café bar.

The refurbishment at the club, in Eden Terrace, Belmont, is part of a UK investment programme by the company that will reach £50 million during the next three years.

The popular café bar’s renovation includes new furnishings, the creation of a children’s soft play area and the introduction of leading coffee brand Starbucks as part of its refreshments offering. It is designed with the comfort and convenience of members and guests in mind.

The Bannatyne Café Bar offers an array of dishes, the majority of which contain less than 500 calories, with the nutritional value clearly displayed on the menu, allowing customers to monitor their calorie and protein intake as part of their health and wellbeing regime. In addition the offering caters for spa guests looking for something a little more indulgent during their pampering sessions.

Matthew Emery, Resort Manager at Bannatyne Health Club Durham, said: “The new café bar looks great and provides members and spa guests with a place to relax, have a bite to eat and enjoy a drink, with the range now including Starbucks coffee.

“The soft play area is a welcome addition to the amenities and is proving a hit with families and younger visitors to the club.”
