BEYOND HOUSING CHARITY SUPPORT TOPS £20,000

Staff at Beyond Housing have raised more than £20,000 for charity over the last three years.

A total of £20,567.60 has been split between the South Cleveland Heart Fund, Macmillan and Teesside Hospice.  Charities were nominated by colleagues and a vote determined the three to be supported.

Beyond Housing’s charities group of ambassadors from across the company worked together to organise fundraising events including golf days, the dreaded Boxing Day dip, soul nights, bake sales, fancy dress days and brave colleagues walking over hot coals.

Representatives from the three charities each received a cheque for more than £6,800 at a special event held at Wilton Golf Club.

Victoria Taylor, chair of Beyond Housing’s charities group, said:  “Beyond Housing is delighted to support three such fantastic and worthy charities, the work they do is invaluable to so many people across our communities and also nationally.

“The fact we can help make a difference, even just a little bit, is so rewarding for our colleagues who have worked hard on various projects to raise money for the good causes.

“We’ve had a lot of fun along the way and it’s been fantastic to see everyone working together and I’d like to personally thank everyone for getting involved, particularly the ambassadors for their hard work in organising all the different events.”

Adrian Davies, Chairman of South Cleveland Heart Fund said:  “This is a fantastic amount of money that will be very valuable in supporting the work of the cardiothoracic unit at James Cook University Hospital.”

Liz Airey, Macmillan Fundraising Manager – Teesside said:  “Thank you to everyone at Beyond Housing. We rely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to enable us to carry out our work with people, and their families, whose lives have been touched by cancer. £6,000 will fund a Macmillan nurse for a month which is amazing.”

Leanne Irvine, Community and Events Fundraiser at Teesside Hospice said:  “We support local people at the most difficult time of their lives. It costs around £6,000 every day for the hospice to operate and we are eternally grateful to the staff at Beyond Housing for choosing to support us.”
