Book Signing Event for Local History Author

We are pleased to be hosting the launch of the latest book by local author Araf Chohan. Since his retirement in 2004, Araf has devoted himself to recording the changes in Middlesbrough over the years, especially in the town centre and St. Hilda’s, now known as Middlehaven.

This new book brings an important part of Middlesbrough’s history back to life in a remarkable series of photographic images, many previously unseen by the public. These pictures show snapshots of life, business, industry, religion, decline and growth and illustrate a timeline of the area from its earliest days to the present.

This will be an opportunity to meet and chat with the author and find out more about how the book was put together. Araf will be signing copies of his book throughout the session but will be presenting an illustrated talk from 11.30am-12.00pm.

Free to all, come along and discover more about the fascinating history of our town.
