LONDON: JULY 29, 2019: British Airways is supporting a new West End season of work by The Jamie Lloyd Company, the hugely successful partnership between the UK’s leading theatre company, Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), and Artistic Director Jamie Lloyd.

The partnership will bring a season of three plays to the Playhouse Theatre in the West End, London opening in late November 2019 and running until August 2020.

The season will be directed by Jamie Lloyd, who recently directed and curated the acclaimed Pinter at the Pinter season, including Betrayal, at the Harold Pinter Theatre. The season will open with Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, freely adapted by Martin Crimp, and will star Golden Globe and BAFTA-nominated James McAvoy in the title role. Subsequent plays will be announced in the coming months.

Tickets for Cyrano de Bergerac will be available to book from September 2019. Customers can register their interest here, with British Airways Executive Club Members receiving exclusive early access to tickets.

To promote inclusivity in West End theatre the partnership will offer:

Jamie Lloyd said: “Every day, we talk about making theatre more accessible to absolutely everyone, but, inspired by free museum and gallery entry, I believe that true and meaningful access actually means free tickets. In a radical move for the West End, we will invite thousands of people who have never visited a theatre before to experience our work, performed by world-class actors, for free. That’s 15,000 completely free tickets, thanks to our relationship with Ambassador Theatre Group and the new partnership with British Airways. I hope that this inspires other theatre companies and producers to investigate similar schemes in the future, changing the landscape of British theatre forever.”

Carolina Martinoli, Director of Brand and Customer Experience at British Airways said: “Theatre is a central part of Britain’s culture which attracts millions of visitors from all over the world.  British Airways has a history of championing British talent, so it is a natural fit to support British theatre and champion its extraordinary creativity – both at home and around the World.”

Mark Cornell, Chief Executive Officer of Ambassador Theatre Group added: “We’re delighted to present an exciting season of work with Jamie Lloyd and extremely grateful to British Airways for supporting our efforts to inspire the next generation of theatre-goers.”

British Airways Executive Club Members can collect Avios if they book tickets through the eStore. With Avios, customers can book reward flights and just pay for taxes, feed and carrier charges in cash.  They can also be used for hotels, car hire and Avios Part Payment – reducing the cash amount paid on flights.

Membership gives theatre-goers priority booking and seat selection, 25 per cent off at the bar, no transaction fees and other exclusive offers.

The Jamie Lloyd Company is dedicated to creating ground-breaking West End productions with the very best acting talent in the world, whilst ensuring accessible pricing with the aim of developing a new, more diverse theatrical audience.
