Scalini’s, at Great North Road, Gosforth and Osborne Road, Jesmond, have each devised three course menus, which will be available to diners throughout December.
Red wine and poached pear salad, confit duck terrine and prawn and crayfish cocktail, are among the starters on offer at Scalini’s Jesmond, while main courses include traditional roast turkey, beef brisket, pan-seared salmon fillet and parsnip and chestnut loaf.
For dessert, diners can then choose from Christmas pudding, chef’s cheesecake, salted caramel torte and crème brûlée.
Alternatively, Scalini’s, at Gosforth, is offering starters including piquant roasted red pepper, goat’s cheese and spinach tart; lobster and crab ravioli, shredded sticky pork and beef sliders and curry spiced parsnip and honey soup.
These are followed by main courses such as roast turkey, pan-fried sea bream, grigliata – or grilled – marinated rump steak, Scalini’s Christmas calzone and a choice of desserts from the blackboard.
Both venues are also open on Christmas Day, with each offering a four course lunch for a set price of £60 per person, to include a glass of Prosecco, and reservations must be made in advance.
The Christmas Fayre menus are priced £18.95 for two courses or £21.95 for three courses.
