Businesses urged to join Tynemouth networking group

North Tyneside businesses are being encouraged to join a new networking group which meets every Tuesday in Tynemouth.

It is one of 28 Network B2B groups across the North made up of over 400 members representing a range of companies and services.

Karen Turville, chair of Tynemouth Network B2B, said: “We have – for example – a lawyer, an electrician, an accountant, a chiropractor and a structural engineer. We’re looking for new members from businesses and trades who are not already represented.”

Meetings take place over breakfast at the Ora restaurant in Front Street. “It’s a lovely venue and we are very well looked after,” said Karen. “It’s a great way to start the working day.”

Members help each other with leads into new business opportunities and the Tuesday gathering also sees them brainstorm challenges or problems.

“Some of us work on our own, so it’s very useful to kick around ideas or issues with people you trust,” said Karen, whose business provides virtual PA, secretarial and administrative services.  Other members of the Tynemouth group work in banking and financial services; IT; online design, development and management, and public relations and video production.

Network B2B, which was previously called Network North, was started by Alex Gordon in 2008.

“Although the aim is for members to generate business for other members, there’s no pressure or hard sell.  Our aim is to fill the room with like-minded people who all want to help each other,” he said.

Tynemouth Network B2B meets from 7.15am to 9am every Tuesday at the Ora restaurant in Front Street, Tynemouth. For further information contact karen.turville@smartpasupport.com
