Can you help lead Northumberland National Park?

Northumberland National Park Authority and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are looking to recruit two members to the 18-member board of the National Park Authority.

The new members will have a passion for the region, with a dedication to making Northumberland National Park a welcoming and distinctive place that supports the landscape and environment of one of England’s finest landscapes.

Board members play a leading role in providing strategic leadership to the National Park Authority, setting priorities for the management of the distinctive heritage and the socio-economic wellbeing of people who live and work in the Park. They also ensure that Northumberland National Park remains open to all and plays its role in addressing key societal challenges, such as climate change, whilst enriching people’s lives.

The Authority is looking to increase the diversity of the board, and wishes to represent those from both rural and urban communities, of all ages and backgrounds and of all abilities.

Glen Sanderson, Chair of Northumberland National Park Authority said: “This is a great opportunity to add to our skills and capabilities as a board. These positions are for anyone with a true passion for the Park, and a real vision for how we can make Northumberland National Park thrive for everyone.

“Members of the Authority have an opportunity to make a real difference through leadership and we are keen to hear from anyone who feels that they can make a contribution.”
