1879 Events Management, part of leading leisure brand SoL, is preparing to feed and water thousands of people at this year’s Newcastle Pride festival, which opens at the city’s Town Moor on Friday evening and runs until Sunday.
The event, which offers three days of live music and entertainment, is returning for its ninth year with one of the biggest line ups to date including headline appearances from 5ive and Heather Small.
1879 Events Management – which has a five year deal to provide all the catering at Newcastle Pride – will be supplying all of the food and drink at the site including eight catering units and three large bars offering both alcoholic and soft drinks
More than 150 staff will be working hard to ensure visitors get the best service possible as they tuck in to tasty street food including burgers, fish and chips, Mexican fajitas and more.
The team is ready for what is expected to be a busy three days, and estimate that staff will serve at least 15,000 pints over the weekend.
“This will be our fourth successive year looking after the catering and hospitality needs for Newcastle Pride and we are delighted to once again be a part of such a big event,” said Gary Hutchinson, Director at 1879 Events Management.
“Our team will be responsible for all of the food and drink on site and we’re making sure we are prepared. We have eight catering units and three enormous bars and are looking forward to welcoming all of our customers to what promises to be a busy and fun weekend.”
