A Stokesley physiotherapy practice is getting their back into helping a fellow North East England Chamber member’s staff get into the best possible shape.
Kate Bye, of North Yorkshire Physiotherapy, has been working with Labman, a robotic automation company for 10 weeks. She supports their staff by giving advice and treatment on a range of muscle and joint problems once a fortnight.
She said: “We were brought in to help Labman ensure their team get the chance to nip in the bud any potential issues with aches and pains at an early stage. In our experience employees can sometimes have an existing ache or pain and work at a reduced productivity rate when early intervention can prevent the issue getting worse and resolve it, returning them to optimal performance.”
Andrew Whitwell, Labman Managing Director said: “The on-going well-being of staff is a high priority for Labman. It has been great to find a local company, with the knowledge, to come in and help with custom physiotherapy plans”
Kate’s business which she runs with partner Dallas Newton has been open since 2013 and has four associate physiotherapists and a practice manager with a further team member about to appointed in January.
The practice actively promotes prevention as well as helping with existing problems, it hosts a number of specifically-designed classes including back exercise sessions and workshops for older people to help prevent falls.
Kate is also working on preparing assessment for the set-up of employees’ desks for her clients to avoid back ache at work. In the future she plans to expand into occupational health and physiotherapy and ergonomic services for workstations.
Tom Warnock, Chamber relationship manager said: “North Yorkshire Physiotherapy is a great business which is supporting other companies to ensure their teams are able to be great as well. Many workforces have small niggles and pains with muscles and joints that interfere with how well they work and this type of service is perfect to ensure people are kept as well as possible.”
