Children can learn the basics of first aid at free summer event

Dale & Valley Homes has teamed up with Bishop Auckland St Mary’s Juniors Football Club to hold ‘Essential First Aid’ training on Monday, 22 and Tuesday, 23 August.

Between 10am and 5pm at Bishop Auckland College, attendees will cover all elements of first aid including resuscitation, communication, casualty care and treatment for a range of ailments.

Kimberley Batey, Community Training Project Coordinator at Dale & Valley Homes, said: “An accident can occur at any time, so it’s important that younger people as well as adults have some level of knowledge of how to respond to an incident or emergency.

“The sessions are open to children aged six to 16, who will be split into different age groups, and can learn skills that will benefit them in all walks of life.”

Places are limited and must be booked advance by calling Kimberley on 0746 940 2619 or by emailing k.batey@daleandvalleyhomes.co.uk, who can provide further information on the time slots available.

Help with transport to attend can be arranged and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
