Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has won Estates Gazette’s Most Active Agent award in the Leisure category for the North East region, incorporating its Leeds and Newcastle offices.
Despite the political and economic uncertainty that the UK is facing, Christie & Co reported that transaction volumes were up by 18% last year and the North East team was instrumental in a number of high profile deals in the leisure sector including the sale of the Staybridge Suites in Newcastle upon Tyne and the Holiday Inn Express in Leeds.
David Lee, Regional Director of Christie & Co’s North region comments, “We are delighted to win this high profile Estates Gazette award which demonstrates our depth of local experience in the leisure markets. It also reflects the increasing buyer appetite for leisure businesses such as hotels, pubs and restaurants in the North East from experienced operators wanting to acquire a second or third site as well as from first-time buyers – in both the more rural areas and city centres.
“We expect demand to continue in 2017 and encourage anybody looking to sell or purchase a business to seek professional advice.”
