THE OPPORTUNITY to celebrate the festive season at more than 1700 feet is on offer, with the unveiling of a Christmas programme at the UK’s highest pub.
The Tan Hill Inn near Richmond has showcased its family friendly experience, which includes everything from a roast turkey banquet, a visit to Santa’s Grotto – complete with elves – and the opportunity to meet Santa’s owls.
The historic pub – which is the perfect backdrop for a Christmas experience – will be running the special package every Saturday and Sunday from November 29 right through to 23 December, with plenty of opportunity for everyone to enjoy the event.
This is the seventh year the pub has run its annual Christmas celebration, which has become increasingly more popular each festive season.
Attendees will get an allocated table to enjoy their festive feast – and to appreciate the beautifully decorated pub – complete with Christmas crackers and the opportunity for youngsters to head to Santa’s Grotto for a meet and greet.
Included in the cost for each child is a gift, along with a colouring activity pack, the owl experience and the opportunity to post their letter to Santa’s in the Santa’s Owl Post Box.
The Tan Hill’s own mascot, Tan Ted, will be joining the elves for festive mischief during the experience.
Visitors can also get the opportunity to buy some of the pub’s unique merchandise – perfect for a Christmas gift – or as a memento of their visit.
Tickets – cost £21.95 plus booking fee for 12-year-olds and under – which includes a gift – and for anyone aged 12 and upwards £23.95 plus booking fee. Tickets for babies under one year cost £5 and includes a gift for the child. All tickets can be booked at Tan Hill Enterprises Ltd event tickets from TicketSource.
Andrew Hields, owner of the Tan Hill, is advising people to book early.
“We know from previous years how popular our Christmas Grotto is and we don’t want anyone to be disappointed,” he said.
