Apart from bin collection dates that would otherwise fall on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, there are no other changes.
With Christmas falling on a Friday, those who usually have their waste collected on Friday will instead have a collection on Sunday 27 December.
And collections the following Friday, 1 January, will take place on Saturday 2 January.
During January, residents can drop their Christmas trees off at the following locations:
- North Tyneside Council’s Killingworth site – Harvey Combe entrance, off Station Road
- Household Waste Recycling Centre, Wallsend Road, North Shields
- Car park adjacent to the scout hut at Briardene, Whitley Bay.
This year, 650 Christmas trees were recycled.
Residents can check their refuse collection dates via the council’s website atwww.northtyneside.gov.uk, or by calling 0345 2000 103.
