The countdown has officially begun, with only four weeks to go until the Children’s Heart Unit Fund’s first ever Hearts & Handbags afternoon tea event, which takes place at The Hilton Hotel in Gateshead this May.

CHUF’s eagerly anticipated charity fundraiser, which is sponsored by Intu Eldon Square and Intu Metrocentre’, has been organised to raise vital funds for children’s cardiac care across the region, and is already set to be a sell out, with tickets flying out the door following an exclusive launch event.

Hearts & Handbags is to be held from 2pm – 5pm on Sunday 14th May, where guests will be welcomed with a sparkling drinks reception and a selection of retail stalls from Molton Brown, The Handbag Clinic, The Botanist, Aspinal of London and many more.

Guests will be treated to a selection of mouth-watering sweet and savoury bites before meeting a panel of parents, medical staff and Heart Heroes who will share their experiences. Kaylee Davidson-Olley, who this year celebrates 30 years since receiving a new heart, will also be a panel member and guest of honour on the day as the longest surviving baby to ever receive a heart transplant in the UK

The afternoon will conclude with a showcase of some of the summer’s hottest trends on the catwalk, followed by an exhilarating Handbag Auction with a range of accessories up for grabs.

All funds raised on the day will be used to support the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital as well as a number of other District General Hospitals in the North of England providing children’s cardiac care.

It’s not too late to be part of the inaugural Hearts & Handbags event! Tickets are priced at £35 per person with tables of 10 or 12 also available. To book, or to find out more, please contact events@chuf.org.uk.
