The annual golf day will take place at the George Washington Hotel, Spa and Golf on July 8.
Money raised at the event will support St Benedict’s Hospice, ‘Headlights’ mental health charity and Diabetes UK, this year’s mayoral chosen charities.
Mayor of Sunderland, Coun Alan Emerson, said: “All three charities hold a special place in my heart and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to support the people who need it most.”
On the day, teams of four will go against each other and will follow a Texas Scramble format throughout the day, meaning each team member will be given equal opportunity to have their first drive used as the initial shot.
Chief Executive of The Konect Group, who organised the event, Gavin Brown, said: “The City of Sunderland Mayor’s charity golf day is always a great event. Every year golfers come from across the region to play for great causes and we hope this year it will be our biggest event yet.”
The all-day event will include tea, coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, a two-course meal after the competition and a raffle, along with the chance to win a number of prizes for achievements such as winning team, nearest the pin and longest drive.
Tickets for the event are priced at £50 (single ticket) and £195 (team entry).
