The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth is over the moon with the response it has had to the newly launched Sunday Cinema. The once-a-month movie pilot has been showcasing three current Hollywood films for audiences young and old. The success has been reflected in the number of cinema goers who’ve enjoyed the viewings – nearly 700 people have watched the films and sampled the hot dogs and ice cream.
The pilot has proved so popular that The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth has decided to extend the trial into July 2015.
The Sunday Cinema is Blyth’s first picture house since the doors to The Wallaw closed over 10-years ago.
The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth is supported by Northumberland County Council.

The Sunday Cinema is part of The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth’s 50th anniversary celebrations of entertaining the people of Northumberland and North East England.

For people looking to buy tickets for the Sunday Cinema they can be purchased by calling the Theatre’s box office number 01670 367 228, online via www.thephoenixtheatre.org.uk or in person the box office is open Monday-Friday 10am-12.30pm or on Saturday 10am-2pm.
The tickets are competitively priced at £7 (adults) and £5.
Tickets can also be bought on the day of the showings but people are advised to buy in advance to avoid disappointment.
