Cycling in the Spotlight

Cycle provision across Stokesley is to come under the spotlight later this month.

It will be the main topic of conversation at the Stokesley and Villages Community Partnership’s Annual General Meeting on 13 July.

Mary Seaton, SUSTRANS Cycle Network Development Officer for Yorkshire & the Humber who is working closely with the Stokesley Cycleways Group to help turn the idea of a family-friendly cycle link between Stokesley & Great Ayton into reality will explain how similar community-led schemes have been completed successfully elsewhere in the country.

The meeting will also provide an update on the range of projects supported by the Group over the last 12 months including the Battersby Junction Community Space, Great Ayton Station and the Living Leven projects.

“I have been Chair of the Group since 2009 and since then the Partnership has played a key role in identifying and supporting those projects that make a real difference to the quality of life of our residents,” said Councillor Mrs Bridget Fortune.

“The AGM provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate the efforts of those involved.”

All residents from across Stokesley and the surrounding villages are welcome to attend the meeting at Stokesley & District Community Care Association at Town Close, Stokesley at 7.30pm.
