The orchestra doesn’t have a set repertoire so the programme is different for every concert. This summer’s event presents music from various eras, composers and countries including:
- ‘Grand March from Aida’ by Verdi
- ‘Pomp and Circumstance March No.4’ by Elgar
- ‘Barber of Seville’ overture by Rossini
- ‘Coriolan’ overture by Beethoven
- And music by Ivor Novello, Kenneth Platts and George Gershwin
In addition to printed programmes provided for the audience, there’ll be an information sheet written for 5- to 11-year-olds to help them enjoy the concert too. Special guests are from Hummersknott Academy chamber choirs.
Further details will be announced nearer the time. For more information, follow the orchestra on Twitter @DarloOrchestra or Facebook/Darlington-Orchestra.
Tickets cost £7 (£5 concessions) from the venue box office (call 01325 406000)
