A NORTH East restaurant is giving guests the chance to get a taste of life as one of India’s Maharajas.
The Last Days of the Raj, Dinnington, is dishing up a feast fit for a king, thanks to their special banquet which offers diners a surprise selection of everything from soups and starters to mains, sides and sundries.
Guests who opt for the special dinner will have their own dedicated member of staff to look after them and serve them course after course of speciality dishes, specially prepared by the chef and which are often not available on the main menu.
The banquet, which is available for a minimum of four people, includes a glass of red or white wine per person and will be followed by desserts, coffees, after-dinner mints and – supari pandan – a palate cleanser.
Guests will enjoy a whole host of exciting dishes, served up in a way which conjures up the spirit of a Maharaja’s table and help guests to sample the opulent lifestyle of India’s nobility.
“The Maharaja’s Banquet offers our guests the unique chance to sample a variety of Indian cuisine and try things they wouldn’t normally have the chance to,” said owner, Imran Khan.
“Our chef will create a special menu full of surprises although we can take into account any special dietary requirements.
“It will definitely be a night to remember with some very special food on offer.”
The Maharaja’s Banquet is priced at £34.95 per person and must be booked 24 hours in advance.
